FAQ

What can I borrow from the Downtown Library?

Since we don't have a physical collection, the library books (and articles, research materials, et al.) can be accessed through our library website or Inter Library Loan. We do have a few textbooks about how to do citations and how to write literature reviews.

Currently, I do not have laptops or laptop chargers. If you need to use a computer at Downtown, we have desktop computer stations that you can use once you log in with your NetID and password.

Is there a place I can work quietly?

Yes! You can make a room reservation by emailing Downtown@brockport.edu to request a quiet study space. These reserved rooms have doors that close, if you need extra quiet or if you have to take a video call. We also have desktop computer stations which are more like office cubicles. There is also a common room where students can sit and work.

Can you proofread my paper?

The Academic Success Center has writing tutors that can help you with the construction and proofreading of your paper. They can be reached at this link.

Additionally, Star NY is an online tutoring service available for all Brockport students. It is open from 7pm to midnight, Sunday through Thursday, and can be found here.
