Membership Categories:
- Friends- Friends are invited to attend Open Executive Board meetings. Expectation is FODL commitment of $25/year or more.
- Associate Members – Invited to take part, support and promote FODL and other library activities as able. No board meeting attendance expectation; donation to FODL voluntary.
- Executive Board – meets monthly throughout the year. Acts as steering committee for planning, implementing, promoting events and activities and allocating financial resources in collaboration with library administration/faculty/staff. Expectation is for annual FODL commitment $50/year or more payable by 12/31 of the year (waived for students). The Executive Board will include the following officers, and members at large. (Members at large are appointed by the board.)
(Note: checks are to be made out to the "Brockport Foundation" with a note on the comment line that it is for "Acct 549.01 FODL.")
- Chair – lead group, develop agendas, chair meetings
- Vice Chair/Alternate – assist and serve as back-up in the chair’s absence
- Secretary – keep and distribute minutes, assist with webpages, production of the Scroll publication and so forth.
- Library Administration (director or designee)
- College Advancement Liaison – assist with coordination, publicity, relationship-building
- Student rep(s) – graduate or undergraduate
- Treasurer: work with our Advancement liaison to oversee our funds.
All Executive board members serve for four years and may be reappointed. Officer terms run for two years, after which a new officer is elected. The current officers will be in place for 2016-2018. The terms run from July 1 – June 1 of the following year. The officers are elected by a simple majority of the membership, a vote conducted via email or in person, as is appropriate.
